Have you ever imagined what life was like in Belgrade before the start of the First World War? This period was marked not only by political upheavals, but also by cultural flourishing and optimism that left a deep mark on the architecture and everyday life of the citizens of Belgrade. This tour takes you on a journey through time where you will find out how local and European cultural trends developed during one of the most exciting and dynamic periods in history.
We start the meeting with a lecture in the elegant fireplace hall of the Hotel Moskva, in a space reserved just for us – tucked away and ideal for chatting and sharing. It will further spoil the atmosphere Moscow slice cake, an essential part of this hotel’s tradition, and refreshments in the form of hot and cold drinks will be available to you. While we’re making out, we’ll talk about past times, political turmoil, the spirit of the era and its artistic achievements.
After the lecture, we will take a short walk together to the Museum of Paja Jovanović , our most famous painter, where in the ambience of his Viennese home and studio we will enjoy the most intimate works that he left as a personal stamp on the world of art. This intimate encounter with his works will give you both a deeper understanding of his creativity and his spiritual world.
